Word to PDF
Convert DOC, DOCX, ODT, and ODF documents into a PDF in your browser. The output is a visual snapshot on A4 pages — text is not selectable, and layout is approximate. Your files never leave your device.
Files are processed locally in your browser.
For this tool, your files never leave your device. We don’t upload your documents to a server.
Visual snapshot on A4
The PDF is a picture of the converted document on A4 pages. Text is not selectable, and links are not clickable.
Supported formats: DOC (Word 97–2003), DOCX, ODT, and ODF (OpenDocument formula). RTF and Pages files are refused.
Layout is approximate. Columns, text boxes, exact fonts, headers, footers, and page numbers may not match the original. An .odf file contributes readable text; equation layout may not match the original formula.
How to use this tool
- Add documents. Drop in .doc, .docx, .odt, or .odf files, or choose them from your device. You can add more than one.
- Put them in order. Use the arrows beside each file. Documents are placed in the PDF in that order.
- Convert. Click Convert to PDF.
- Download. Save the PDF. One document keeps its file name with a .pdf extension. Several documents download as document.pdf.
Supported formats
- Input
- Word 97–2003 .doc files, Word .docx files, OpenDocument text .odt files, and OpenDocument formula .odf files.
- Output
- One PDF on A4 pages. A single document keeps its file name, with .pdf instead of .doc, .docx, .odt, or .odf. Several documents are combined into document.pdf. Text in the PDF is not selectable.
Limitations
- Password-protected .doc files are rejected. Save the document as .docx or .odt without a password. Word 6 and Word 95 files are not accepted. Lists in a .doc file may appear as indented paragraphs.
- Other formats, including .rtf and .pages, are not accepted.
- Several files become one PDF, not one PDF per file.
- The PDF is a snapshot of the converted document. Text is not selectable, and links are not clickable.
- Layout is approximate. Columns, text boxes, exact fonts, headers, footers, and page numbers may not match the original.
- An .odf file contributes its readable text. Equation layout may not match the original formula.
- A document with no readable content becomes a blank A4 page.
- Pages break between paragraphs, headings, lists, and tables. A long paragraph or table continues on the next page between lines or rows. A piece that is still too tall to draw is rejected.
- Each document must be 75 MB or smaller. A batch can contain up to 15 documents and 200 MB. The converted PDF can contain up to 50 pages.
